About Steve Johnson
Steve Johnson has been in private practice for over twenty years. Beginning his career as a special education teacher, he went on to earn a Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology and a Masters Degree in Clinical Social Work. In 1993, Steve was conferred Diplomate Status by satisfying the requirements for Advanced Clinical Social Work established by the Competence Certification Commission of the National Association of Social Workers. Over the years, he has acquired extensive training in psychodynamic psychotherapy, family therapy, addiction treatment, guided imagery and clinical hypnosis. In addition, Steve has more than 15 years experience in integrating EMDR into his therapy practice. For those clients who prefer a woman psychologist, my wife Margery Silverton, LCSW-C, is available. Margery has been practicing psychotherapy since 1975, and has been committed throughout her career to continuing education in state-of-the-art methods of psychotherapy. Advanced training includes certifications in Gestalt Psychotherapy, Sex Therapy, Imago Relationship Therapy, EMDR, Voice Dialogue and Emotional Freedom Techniques. Combining her warmth, humor, and compassion with her many years of training and experience, she seeks to provide a healing environment in which her patients can feel both safe and challenged to reach their full potential.
